Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from her husband of two years, Brad Pitt. "Irreconcilable differences" were cited as the reason for the split.

TMZ reported that the actress filed her legal papers for the process on Monday, and has reportedly asked to have physical custody over their six children. Jolie prefers to have joint legal custody with Pitt, as she asked the judge to grant terms for the actor's visitation.

Represented by divorce lawyer Laura Wasser, Jolie didn't include a request for spousal support from Pitt. The actress indicated her separation date as September 15, 2016 - just Thursday last week. The couple have been together since 2004, and have married 10 years into being a couple in August 2014.

Speculations over the couple's marriage fueled over the months they haven't been seen together, the Daily Mail reported. However, "Brangelina" were last spotted by TMZ dining together with their twins Knox and Vivienne on a birthday breakfast last July.

Jolie's latest divorce is set to be her third, as she was previously married to stars Johnny Lee Miller and Billy Bob Thornton. Pitt, for his part, was married to Jennifer Aniston until 2005.

The Hollywood power ex-couple worked together on the 2005 hit movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith.
