As WWE Clash of Champions 2016 nears, who could possibly be the former superstars that will appear on this grand world sports entertainment?

WWE Chairman Vince McMahon earlier announced that veteran superstars will show up to add spice to the coming main event. Some rumored names that will likely to appear included Jeff Hardy, Melina, Mickie James, MVP, and others.

But one name that stood out was Bill Goldberg. Former one-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion and a one-time World Heavy Champion in WWE, Goldberg was the franchise player and face of WCW during the "Attitude Era".

According to The Inquisitr, Goldberg is being teased to make his highly anticipated return to WWE during the WWE Clash of Champions this weekend. Rumors that circling for the past months disclosed that WWE and Goldberg have been talking regarding his return and it gained momentum when he was announced to be a featured character for WWE2K17.

It was also strange that Goldberg will be in Indianapolis the same day WWE Clash of Champion will take place. And the fans interest got bigger that WWE production is setting up Goldberg for the comeback.

Goldberg popularity came to stardom during 1998 where he is compared to likes of Stone Cold Steve Austin and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. He was being considered as one of the most feared wrestler during that time because of his undefeated streak that many believe that figures were only exaggerated.

Ecumenical News also reports that as of this moment no name is being linked to be the potential opponent for Goldberg. One possible option could be Brock Lesnar, which Goldberg fought in the ring during "Wrestlemania XX". It happens to be also the last time we saw Goldberg steps in the WWE ring and a possible rematch would likely happen.

"Clash of the Champions" will take place at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana on Sept. 25 live on WWE Network.
