Volkswagen, a German automotive giant, published a trio teaser images that hints its all new electric concept car.

According to Digital Trends, the unnamed Volkswagen concept images clearly depict the lineup of its new cars. The images show sharp headlights and a thin grille. The design as shown in the images makes the car look futuristic unlike the present cars.

The new look which shows the car to be electric powered will openly differentiates it from those models powered with internal combustion engine.

LED lights embedded below the emblem on the front end and the door mirrors replaced with high definition cameras clearly gives indications that the car is going under futuristic influence.

Volkswagen new teaser image showing the upcoming electric car would boast a footprint similar to the Golf with interior volume on par with the Passat. The teaser images shows up that the concept will feature an exterior shape closer to the Golf than the company's previous Budd-e electric van concept.

According to Left Lane News, Volkswagen said, "This one-of-a-kind concept car signals the Volkswagen brand's entry into a new era," the company also added "The vehicle is as revolutionary as the Beetle was seven decades ago, before it evolved into the world's best-selling car of the last century. This car, too, has the potential to make history with its completely new vehicle concept."

Volkswagen said that the production vehicle of the concept will be launched sometimes after the Paris Show. The company confirmed clearly by stating that the new concept will be based on a new MEB architecture designed for particularly for electric cars.

The platform features a totally flat battery pack which might occupy almost all the space between the front and rear axle.

As reported by Digital Trends, the technical specifications of this car will not be announced until the concept is presented. The report states that the car built on MEB platform can run 248 and 372 miles on a single charge.

It is assumed that the 248 miles will be expected from smaller vehicles whereas 372 miles will be expected from bigger vehicles with larger batteries. The production vehicle of the concept is likely to show up in Volkswagen showrooms sometime in 2018 or in 2019.
