With scarce news and updates about the sequel of animated film "Frozen," fans have been filling up the rumor mill with speculations of Anna's sexuality, Elsa's death, and whether or not the original actors will still be in "Frozen 2."

The most recent rumors that had fans feasting over was that "Frozen 2" will no longer be about Anna (Kristen Bell) and Elsa (Idina Menzel). According to insiders, the sequel will be about a prince going on a quest to find his princess.

Early this year, ET Online reported that the voice actress behind Frozen's Elsa, Idina Menzel, expressed her support for the trending petition, #GiveElsaAGirlfriend. The LGBT community has always wanted to be represented in a Disney film and it seems that "Frozen 2" is a target.

However, if the recent rumors regarding the "Frozen" sequel are true, it looks like Disney has yet again reverted back to their original plotline of a typical fairytale love story despite the clamor of fans for a more liberated plot.

The rumors have escalated to a new level in light of "Frozen 2" updates.

According to TIME, Kristen Bell, the voice of Anna, expressed that the writers are under intense pressure to write a script worthy of 2013's Frozen.

The cast is still waiting for the script and although they have not started recording yet, it seems that at the very least, Anna will still star in "Frozen 2." Menzel has also expressed excitement for the sequel earlier this year.

Fans continue to speculate on the storyline including one about Anna falling in love with Elsa, who will turn out to be an illegitimate daughter or that the Snow Queen will inevitably fall to her death. It seems that fans will continue to fill up the rumor mill until Disney gives something about the production, release date, and recording of the much-anticipated "Frozen 2."

While there is no specific date yet, "Frozen 2" release date is set for 2018.
