Just last March, actor Dylan O'Brien suffered injuries while filming "Maze Runner: Death Cure," an upcoming third movie of the installment.

He reportedly sustained multiple broken bones after being hit and pulled to the ground by his own safety vehicle while performing a stunt on-set that happened in Vancouver, Canada.

It was also stated that he suffered concussion, facial fractures and lacerations, which left the actor hospitalized for a while.

Last April, Fox released a statement regarding O'Brien's sustained injuries which said, "The resumption of principal photography on 'Maze Runner: The Death Cure' has been further delayed to allow Dylan O'Brien more time to fully recover from his injuries. We wish Dylan a speedy recovery and look forward to restarting production as soon as possible."

Upon release of the statement, fans were deeply worried and awaited more news about the actor's status.

Wes Ball, the film's director, has shared his sentiments regarding the incident.

"He is one tough cookie. I'm sorry for the grief this accident has caused his friends and family as well as my wonderful cast and crew."

Ball added, "After a few weeks of rest and recovery he'll be back up and running to finish our adventure together. All the best."

Meanwhile, the actor's "Teen Wolf" castmate JR Bourne also confirmed that the actor has been recovering well. With this, many are hopeful that resumption of the film's shooting is going to happen soon.

However, fans are going to have to wait longer for the upcoming film's release. Initial release of the movie was on Feb. 17, 2017, but it has been pushed back to Jan. 12, 2018, to give time to O'Brien to recover fully.

"The Maze Runner" and "The Maze Runner: Scorch Trials" were released on 2014 and 2015, respectively and grossed $660 million dollars in total.
