"Dance Moms," Season 7 is all set to premiere today but fears loom large over its continuation as the producers are thinking of canceling the show. Though they have requested star dancer Maddie Ziegler to return, it remains to be seen if her comeback will help them continue with its successful streak.

Season 7 of "Dance Moms" will premiere amidst fears of cancellation, reports Health Aim. This is because most of the fan-favorites have already left the show and the producers are well-aware that it would not be easy to increase the ratings of the show with a new cast. Therefore, they are trying hard to bring back star performer Maddie Ziegler to save the day.

However, it is not yet clear if she would be coming back. She reportedly planned to leave "Dance Moms" in the last season itself. She has also bagged new projects and will be appearing as a judge on "So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation" and is also slated to join the entourage of Sia, who is undertaking a tour this very year.

Not only this, the 13-year-old dancer is also ready to give acting a shot and has signed for a role in a 2017 movie titled "The Book of Henry."  Last but not the least, she has also turned into a fashion entrepreneur and released her clothing line recently. So, it is pretty clear that her schedule is super tight and it would not be easy for her as well to join the endangered "Dance Moms."

It is worth mentioning here that the bankruptcy scandal of Abby Miller Lee has played a major role in bringing down the ratings of the show. According to Fox News, the coach is still facing fraud charges and it looks like she will also lose the lead coach role in the current season 7.

She has already pleaded guilty and admitted to hiding an income worth $775,000 from Lifetime network and bringing more than $10,000 in 2014 illegally. If the court sentences her to serve in jail, she is definitely not coming back.

'Dance Moms,' Season 7 premieres on 6 September, on Lifetime.
