In the interview with Financial Times, House announced last June that Sony is already developing a high-end PS4 for hardcore gamers who are clamoring for a 4K TV-capable game console with enhanced and magnificent graphics.

Some are quite skeptical if the new PS4 will really be capable of 4K gameplay or will be the same with the Xbox One S, which just offers a 4K Video Playback.

With or without the real 4K capability, the PS4 Neo is expected be more expensive than the current PlayStation 4.

PS4 Neo will also support PlayStation VR and that all PS4 Neo games can also run on the current standard PlayStation 4.

Although a launch is imminent, Sony has not yet released any official statement regarding the actual specifications of their new game console.

For now, tech-savvies will have to settle with the leaked documents about PS4 Neo that have been going around the internet recently.

Among the specifications in the leaked documents include that PS4 Neo will be compatible with Ultra HDTV. Its CPU will also be running 1.3 times faster at 2.1 GHz eight Jaguar cores (standard PS4 today is running only at 1.6 GHz). PS4 Neo will also have higher bandwidth on memory at 218 GB per second (176 GB per second for the current PS4).

PS4 Neo's graphics processor is also enhanced to 4.2 teraflops. While this is a great update from the graphics of the current PS4, Microsoft's Xbox One upgrade or Project Scorpion reportedly has 6 teraflops, 43 percent lead over PS4 Neo.

These specifications, however, are all speculations as of this moment. For the official statement from Sony, we will all have to wait until Sept. 7.
