Beyoncé is the Queen - no one can argue that after she swept this year's MTV Music Video Awards with eight victories out of 11 nominations.

After wowing everyone at the red carpet, breaking records and stopping the show with her performance, how can the Queen B go wrong?

The Lemonade singer was nominated for a career-best 11 awards at the MTV VMA held at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Beyoncé won the top prize "Video of the Year", "Breakthrough Long Form Video", "Best Female Video", "Editing", "Choreography", "Direction" and "Cinematography" for her Formation video.

While accepting her award for the top prize, Beyoncé thanked her daughter Blue Ivy and husband, Jay-Z.

The presentation of the Best Female Video award was also made extra special with the appearance of Team USA (Gymnastics) who won gold in the recently concluded Rio 2016 Olympics.

The Queen Bae also broke Madonna's record of 20 MTV VMA that night. All in all, Beyoncé already won 24 Moonmen trophies that include the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award in 2014.

If that is not enough to declare her the ultimate winner for the night, the Formation singer performed a 16-minute breathtaking medley of her latest album, Lemonade.

The performance was presented by Tennis Superstar Serena Williams. The songs included in the medley were Pray You Catch Me, Hold Up, Don't Hurt Yourself and Formation.

Other winners in the MTV VMAs 2016 are Rihanna (Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award), Calvin Harris and Rihanna (Best Male Video) and Drake (Best Hip Hop Video).
