For a moment, everyone thought that the MTV Video Music Awards at Madison Square Garden in New York City was a scene from a romantic movie -- when Drake shamelessly professed his love for Rihanna while presenting her the Video Vanguard Award (MTV VMAs Lifetime Achievement Award).

Referring to the singer by her real name, Robyn Fenty, Drake reminisced their first encounter and then enumerated Rihanna's simple beginning. Throughout the years, he said Rihanna had not changed since Day 1.

It was a moving speech.

He then summed the whole thing up by saying he has been in love with her since he was only 22 years old. If that is not professing ones love then what could it be?

What fires the Internet was when it was time to give Rihanna the trophy. Drake congratulated and tried to kiss her but, as all sad stories end, he got nothing in return.

Well, maybe he got a smile from the singer and a thank you for all the amazing words during his introduction speech. The "Work" singer then proceeded to her acceptance speech where she thanked her family and fans for supporting her.

After Rihanna's speech, everyone was still puzzled with the question, "Did Rihanna really just pulled away from Drake's kiss?"

While some speculates that the kiss from Drake was a joke (really, after that speech?), it seemed pretty obvious that Rihanna was not happy as she was seen mouthing that it was not funny.
