Japanese iPhone users will be the first to enjoy the tap-to-pay feature of iPhone 7 when the newest of the iPhone devices will be released in Japan next month.

The FeliCa chip, developed by Sony Corporations, is the prevalent standard in Japan. It can process transactions in just 0.1 seconds, according to Sony.

The current Apple pay process goes through a server that requires bank approval, which technically slows down the transaction.

Bloomberg Technology said that Apple wanted to work with multiple transit card providers such as Suica and Pasmo network through iPhone's wallet application.

Japan is vital for the success of Apple Inc. as it represents almost 11 percent of the company's operating profit and 8 percent of its total revenue.

Apple is also preparing for a mass-transit navigation support in Japan through the use of iPhone Maps by the end of the year.

This feature boosts iOS10, where users will be informed of the arrival and departure schedules of all mass transit vehicles across Japan.
