A driver in Japan killed two women when he opted to play Pokemon Go while driving his truck.

The incident raised more safety concerns on Pokemon Go players following a series of accidents around the world where many even resulted in deaths.

Police investigation revealed that the driver was distracted by the game while maneuvering his truck in a populated highway Wednesday evening, according to a CBC report.

This is the first reported death related to the Nintendo craze.

The worldwide popularity of Pokemon Go generated crowds in parks and other public places as users scramble in search for monsters.

But the game has also been blamed for injuries and robberies of distracted users.

Pokemon incidents elsewhere have spurned warnings from authorities for users to play responsibly. In Taiwan on Sunday Pokemon Go monster hunters caused a stampede in Taipei blocking streets in the capital.
