"Resident Evil" franchise has been one of the longest running and most successful game for Capcom. After years of released one installment after another, "Resident Evil" series has reached part number seven that was first introduced in E3. The players are in for huge surprises with "Resident Evil 7" as it will not be anything like its predecessors. The players, in fact, will assume a role of civilian with no combat background, versus trained operatives in previous games.

Even though "RE7" will be set after "RE6," the fans can expect to see new characters and gameplay. However, there will be the famous puzzle-solving and other such "Resident Evil" classics to keep the spirit of the game alive.

In a recent report, it was pointed out that "Resident Evil 7" will not so much be a zombie survival game as it used to be. It will have more horror elements and jump scares to make it more thrilling. The recently released demo of the game reveals obvious changes in the game setting and tone. The atmosphere looks scarier and the environment appears unfriendly.

According to Masachika Kawata, game producer, "RE7" will have similar combat features such as melee attack and gun attack but will be mainly about survival than over-the-top combat action.

The first trailer of the game was revealed at E3 that also showed its scary gameplay. The fans will also be able to play "Resident Evil" on their PlayStation VR sets. The game will release on Jan. 24 worldwide.
