Fans were shocked to learn that Selena Gomez had cancelled the Australian leg of her first world tour, the "Stars Dance Tour," which was not due to low sales, but the 21-year-old star's own unconfirmed personal reasons.

"My fans are so important to me and I would never want to disappoint them," Gomez said in a statement earlier this week, which her rep confirmed. "But it has become clear to me and those close to me that after many years of putting my work first, I need to spend some time on myself in order to be the best person I can be."

The vague statement caused many to speculate that the pop star may be heading down a bad road, and perhaps may even be planning on checking into rehab early next year during the months that she was previously scheduled to tour in Asia and Australia. When Gomez's childhood best friend and fellow ex-Disney princess Demi Lovato mysteriously cancelled the rest of her "Camp Rock 2" tour appearances back in 2010, she was actually being admitted into a treatment facility for a variety of issues.

But unlike Lovato back in 2010, Gomez has not deleted her Twitter, Instagram or other social media accounts, and has been providing fans with some updates into her personal life, including a new Instagram photo of her cuddling her baby sister Gracie.

"I'm the happiest I've been in a while," the star wrote as a caption. "So blessed and thankful for the future, for release and to finally be happy for those I loved . . ."

A recent car crash, however, has added further fuel to the rumor fire that something is up with Selena Gomez. The star was photographed today (Dec. 23) in L.A. driving erratically and crashing into a pole, according to CelebDirtyLaundry, paparazzi capturing shots of her dented SUV.

Gomez also surprised fans recently by dropping the F-bomb and stomping off-stage at the Jingle Ball concert after her microphone failed to work while she was caught lip-synching, the footage quick to go viral online.
