Talk of GTA 6 is doing rounds as Gamescom gets off to a start in Cologne. Will Rockstar drop hints at the event about a new addition to its biggest money-spinning franchise?

Loyalists were disappointed at E3 earlier this year when no mention was made of a new GTA game. GTA V has been around for a while now and Rockstar does not seem to be slowing down on updating the game, which is a strong indication that a new GTA is unlikely in the near future. However, talk of GTA 6 in development cannot be shrugged off as Rockstar's parent company Take-Two Interactive has spoken about new offerings.

Take-Two is participating at Gamescom and is a listed exhibitor showing 'action/adventure', sport and strategy games. There is slim chance, if any, Take-Two would let slip anything about GTA 6 but fans are hopeful.

Announcement of dates for PlayStation's Meeting this year has also raised hopes for a GTA 6 announcement. The meeting is scheduled to begin September 7 in New York City. GTA is a big PS banner and the gaming community would watch the event fingers crossed.

Meanwhile, rumors continue to float about possibly gameplay and celebrity participation. It was earlier reported Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling may have lent their voices in the game while many still believe the new game could be set in Tokyo. However, we think GTA 6 is unlikely to be set out of the fictional cities of San Andreas or Liberty City.

Then there is the fan-driven discussion of a successor to GTA Online and whether Rockstar should allow gamers to keep their spoils or start afresh when the next Online GTA game launches.
