Continental Mills has temporarily recalled specific lots of blueberry pancake mix over concerns that some batches of the product could be contaminated with E. Coli.

The recall was recently announced by General Mills when the company decided to expand its voluntary recall on certain flour products, The recall took place after a multistate E. Coli outbreak was associated with the four produced by the company.

Continental Mills, which is not affiliated to General Mills, has reportedly used some of the flour products that have been recalled by General Mills in specific blueberry pancake mixes. In a statement, the company announced that it has decided to recall its Krusteaz Blueberry Pancake Mix that was manufactured between April 2016 to June 2016.

The Continental Mills statement further revealed that some of the mix from the recalled product "is made with a small percentage of affected flour, which was recalled by General Mills because it may be contaminated with E. coli O121."

So far, the outbreak linked to the flour products produced by General Mills has affected more than 40 people in 21 different states across the United States. According to Continental Mix, none of the sickened people have been affected by the pancake mix.

Andy Heily, president of Continental Mix, said in a statement that taking care of the quality of their products is of utmost important in the company. The company is taking the best efforts to make sure that its customers have all the relevant information that pertains to the recalled products.

Meanwhile, General Mills has recalled over 30 million pounds of flour since the outbreak was first reported in June 2016.
