The Duggars were under fire this week when it was announced on social media that Derick Dillard and Jill Duggar will be returning from their mission in Central America and join the rest of the clan in their Arkansas home. The said move sparked rumors that the couple may be spending some of the the funds donated from their fans.

"We are only missing Jill!! It won't be long though Derick, Jill & Israel will be home!" the Duggars posted in their official Facebook page.

The announcement came amidst pending rumors that the Duggars will be back in US television for the second season of Counting On with Jill and Derick putting their mission on a standstill so that they can participate in the show.

This was not the first time that the couple hinted of their return to their Arkansas home as evident on a Facebook status that dates back October last year.

"...We are looking forward to seeing the faces of the sweet friends we've made in Central America who are helping us in our mission work. It will be next summer before we plan to make a short visit back to the States again. Here are a few pics as we left this weekend. Please keep praying for us-we are praying for you!" they once announced.

Whether Jill and Derick's stay will be a short or a long one is something that is yet to be confirmed.

But for the meantime, fans speculated that Derick is not that healthy these days basing in his pictures on social media. Some even contemplated that he is under opioid abuse.

However, in Jill Duggar's post, the reality TV star explained that her husband's change is due to new, 'uncommon' living conditions while they were on a mission in the third world country.

"Derick and I are generally very healthy people, but when you're eating, drinking and living in a different place than the one you grew up in, it's not uncommon to come down with the 'traveler's stuff' or other bacteria/viruses in the local jungle area. No, we haven't had Zika that we know of, but both of us have been laid out for a few days here and there, thankfully not both at the same time though," she explained.
