Tom Cruise has agreed to an out-of-court settlement with the publishers of In Touch and Life & Style magazines after suing them for accusing him of "abandoning" daughter Suri, according to Entertainment Wise.

Last October, "Oblivion" actor Tom Cruise filed a case against the publishers of In Touch and Life & Style magazines for printing a story that suggested the actor has abandoned his daughter Suri after his divorce with Katie Holmes.

Yesterday, reports revealed that Cruise had agreed to an out-of-court settlement though the terms and conditions of the settlement have not been revealed, according to Entertainment Wise.

E!Online  was able to get its hands on a copy of the stipulation of dismissal that was released by longtime Cruise attorney, Bert Fields

"The terms of the settlement were not disclosed and remain confidential. Bauer Publishing, as well as In Touch and Life & Style magazines, never intended to communicate that Tom Cruise had cut off all ties and abandoned his daughter, Suri, and regret if anyone drew that inference from anything they published," read the statement, according to the tabloid.

In a deposition submitted by Cruise during the start of the case, the actor revealed his disappointment at the accusation calling it "absolutely disgusting." He said that while he was aware that he was a public person and the media was free to report news about it, there's a limit to which this freedom extends and beyond that he demands an "apology"

Referring to the two stories published last year, the actor said, "I asked for a retraction. They denied it, wouldn't do it and then published that you know-this is the second one."

The only thing good that came from this entire lawsuit is that Cruise finally admitted that it might have been his Scientology beliefs that led to the divorce between him and Holmes. He said that he was aware Holmes was trying to protect their daughter and divorce was the only option for her.

The actor confirmed that Holmes stopped practicing the religion straight after the divorce and Suri too no longer follows Scientology.  He regarded the lawyer's question as a "lack of understanding and respect towards my religion," reported ABC News.

Holmes ended their five-year-long marriage last June.
