Chinese tech giant Huawei has recently unveiled MateBook on June 20 at the World Trade Center in New York City. The convertible laptop was previously announced at the Mobile World Congress months ago. The company also announced that the 2-in-1 device is already available for pre-order and will hit the shelves on July 11 with price ranging from $699 to $1,199.

As reported by NeoWin, the MateBook runs on Intel's Core m-series processors with Core m3, m5, and m7 variants available. The hybrid laptop will also be equipped with Windows 10 Signature Edition upon its US release.

Huawei's latest marketing efforts is aimed at making a dent at the saturated US market. While the Chinese company has been extremely successful in emerging markets, Huawei's product lineup is still largely unknown in the United States despite being the third largest smartphone maker and fifth biggest vendor of tablets in the world.

"Huawei MateBook has generated incredible excitement since its launch at Mobile World Congress and attracted rave reviews from technology enthusiasts around the world," said Yanyan Ji, Vice President of Marketing, Huawei Device USA as per official press release.

"MateBook combines the best of a tablet and laptop, and demonstrates the type of premium experience Huawei customers expect and Huawei is known for."

In the US, however, the common stereotype of cheap and low-quality Chinese-made devices still holds sway over a majority of American consumers. To overcome it, the Chinese tech giant plans to offer a slate of premium hybrid devices in the US with consistent design message from Nexus 6P, to the Watch, to its latest MateBook.

Spec-wise (via The Next Web), Huawei's MateBook can be likened to an iPad Pro running on Microsoft's Windows 10. It also bears resemblance to Samsung's TabPro S. With $699 base price (minus the keyboard or stylus), the 12" 2-in-1 tablet comes with 4 GB of RAM, 128 GB of storage offering, and a Core M3 processor under the hood.

It also has a decent 2160 x 1440 display resolution. For those wanting a variant with higher end configurations the price could set you back $1,199 but comes with 8GB of RAM, a core m5 processor, and a 512 GB of storage.

The $999 middle-end variant comes with Core m5, 8 GB RAM, and 256 GB storage option. For those who want some add-ons, a portfolio keyboard would cost $129, $59 for the stylus and $89 for leather-bound dock with USB 3.0 ports, Ethernet, HDMI and VGA ports. The Windows-based device may not be as powerful as the Microsoft's very own Surface Pro series but it does come with Windows 10 Signature Edition and a 9-hour battery life.
