There are certain WWE super stars who have had wonderful careers and equally wonderful achievements as top level wrestlers that when they speak about the business then it carries a lot of weight. In that regard, it can be safely said that Chris Jericho among one of the most respected and well regarded super stars in the WWE at this point of time due to his stature as one of the long serving and decorated performers in the business. The upcoming brand split in the WWE betwwen WWE Raw and Samckdown, as well as the necessary draft picks are major talking points and Jericho addressed the issues recently on Smackdown.

Jericho said that the wrestlers are not quite sure where they are going to end up following the draft picks and it is a bit surprising since athletes usually have a bit of a clue regarding their destination ahead of a draf. He said, "Everybody sits in the back dressed in full gear sitting there waiting to hear where you're going. It really does go that far, so I don't know where I'll be drafted, and neither does anyone else." He also said that the fact that Smackdown would also be a live show from the 19th of July this year, it provides the brand an even footing with WWE Raw, the flagship show of the WWE. He said, "Even though the roster was very strong, [it] might have even been better than RAW... you still always had that live element of RAW,"

However, the most important takeaway from the whole interaction was that Jericho believed that the brand split and the resultant draft would help the company in unearthing new talent as both shows would need to find new faces in order to boos their brands. He said, "If a three hour RAW has a pool of 50 guys to choose from, and now there's only 25 guys to choose from, there better be some spotlights shown on some different people. It's going to be a very exciting time, not just for the roster, but for the WWE Universe itself around the entire world because you will see new stars [and] new legends being made as a result of this brand extension."
