The forthcoming title to Square Enix's longrunning "Kingdom Hearts" franchise won't feature any worlds from the publishers Final Fantasy series according to the game's co-director Tai Yasue. Instead, the forthcoming action crossover role-playing game (RPG) will concentrate mainly on Disney worlds.

Moreover, the developers of the game want to identify which Disney world best suits the kind of the gameplay they wish to implement. While Final Fantasy characters were found in the previous Kingdom Hearts titles, the creators aren't really planning into adding any more Final Fantasy worlds into the upcoming game.

"We're not adding any Final Fantasy worlds. A lot of the original [to Kingdom Hearts] worlds [Hollow Bastion, Traverse Town, e.t.c.] had Final Fantasy characters in them. At this moment, we are not really coming up with any plans for that, we're making original worlds and Disney worlds," said Yasue as per Game Spot.

To date, the franchise has rolled out 14 games in total but newcomers can still enjoy Kingdom Hearts without having the need to back to all of the game's previous releases especially with KH 2.8. The crossover RPG continue to gain popularity even among newcomers due to its infusion of already popular Disney world characters.

Meanwhile, the release of "Kingdom Hearts 2.8" Final Chapter Prologue is almost near. According to Movie News Guide, KH 2.8 is expected to bridge the timeline gaps leading up to the "Kingdom Hearts 3."

Yasue continued that "Kingdom Hearts 3" is set to bring everything to a close and bring an end to the Dark Seeker adventure, Game & Guide reported.

In another gaming industry update, "Kingdom Hearts 3" has recently made it back to Famitsu weekly top chart in the tenth spot for the most anticipated games in the Japanese market. The rest of the chart is dominated by two games with Final Fantasy 15 at No. 1 and Persona 5 at No. 2, Gamingbolt reported. Here's the rest of the Top 10 chart: Final Fantasy (3rd), Dragon Quest 11 PS4 version (4th), Dragon Quest 11 3DS version (5th), Pokemon Sun/Moon (6th), Tales of Berseria (7th), Yo-Kai Watch 3 (8th), and Etrian Odyssey 5 (9th).
