Following WWE's confirmation that wrestling legend will be the pre-order exclusive playable character in the much-awaited WWE 2K17 game, 2K Sports has announced three further names who will be included in the wrestling simulation video game's virtual roster.

The roster has not been completed yet with several more WWE superstars waiting to be added but the game publisher has already teased fans of what's to come once the game hits the shelves featuring characters from previous generations and the wrestlers who are on their way to mega-stardom.

It was announced previously that artist Rob Schamberger will be revealing the characters in the upcoming video game by painting them in front of WWE fans at the Electronic Entertainment Expo or E3 2016, Game Zone reported.

As reported by Wrestle Zone, the first three names to make it to the 2K17 roster are 15-time WWE world heavyweight champion John Cena, WWE Hall of Famer the Ultimate Warrior, and the WWE grappler lass Sasha Banks.

This will be Banks' first WWE video game appearance following her wrestling debut in 2010. The addition of Sasha Banks marks WWE's responsiveness to fans' demand for equal gender representation both on the real and virtual game.

2K Sports has been the sole creator of WWE 2K video game franchise since 2014. Before the 2K series, there were a number of developers and publishers involved including Yukes, THQ, Amaze Entertainment, and Visual Concepts. In 2013, 2K Sports started publishing the game and eventually went solo the following year.

After taking over as publisher, 2K Sports had already featured three great wrestling icons on the front cover, namely, The Rock, John Cena and 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin according to Vavel. So far, the publisher is yet to drop the name of the next WWE figure who will adorn the cover. Leading favorites include Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins.
