Apple has announced a long list of tech reveals recently at the WWDC. In the developers' conference, the Cupertino-based giant has unveiled its latest operating system, macOS 12, featuring a slew of exciting upgrades such as a new way of unlocking a Mac device via Touch ID feature.

As soon as the new operating system gets rolled out across Apple's devices, users may have to say goodbye to typing long and boring passwords whenever they need to unlock their Mac.

Tech Crunch reported that an automatic unlock mechanism will be added to the Mac if the user is wearing an Apple Watch. Additionally, users may also make use of their iPhone's Touch ID feature to unlock their Mac. Currently, iPhone users who own an Apple Watch can unlock their wearable device using their handset's Touch ID security feature. The smartwatch will remain unlocked until the device is removed from the wrist.

Such similar feature may soon be exported to MacBook Pro. With this security mechanism, the MacBook Pro will automatically unlock itself when the user unlocks his/her iPhone near the Mac through the Touch ID feature. Although the WWDC announcement did not directly point to the inclusion of Touch ID sensor in the upcoming laptop flagship, tech observers and analysts think that Apple is likely to add such biometric security feature on the said device.

Meanwhile, some keen tech observers spotted macOS Sierra APIs which indirectly point to the potential addition of a secondary and customizable display and support for biometric devices. While the APIs did not mention a direct reference to the purported Touch ID security feature, the APIs enable tap tracking on a biometric key, Apple Insider reported.

Apple remains silent when the MacBook Pro will be released but tech analysts think that much anticipated product launching should be anytime soon. While WWDC didn't reveal much about the forthcoming 2016 flagship, leaks suggest that the laptop will feature an ultra-thin frame, new USB Type C ports, and an OLED touchscreen found just above the keyboard, MobiPicker reported.
