With over a month away for Samsung's next unveiling, speculation about Note 6/Note 7 has kept rumor mills busy. Word has it Samsung has chosen curved display for flat screen.

The South Korean phone-maker was said to be testing two Note devices for this summer launch. One, a flat display phone and another with curved edges similar to Galaxy Edge devices. Samsung was reportedly unsure of what would sell and had entered testing with both devices. If new leaks are any indication, the decision has been made in favor of dual-edge display.

Reports claiming to show teaser images of the new Note show stylus pen making contact what could be a device with curved edges. The image is captioned 'Write On The Edge Of Something Great', which is being considered an allusion to Galaxy Note 6's display. At this point, it is conjecture but the leak cannot be ruled out as edge display has been in speculation for long.

Tech pundits expect Samsung to make some bold marketing moves, including normalizing names of devices and time the launch of Note well ahead of Apple's iPhone. The company is expected to drop Note 6 and call its next phablet Note 7 to harmonize its name with those of Galaxy S7 flagship devices. The dual-edge display will pitch the Note as an Edge+ replacement while paving the way for making edge screens popular and Samsung USP.

In other Note 7 reports, Samsung could launch the device with Android Marshmallow and not Android N as was speculated earlier; leaks from a user agent reported here suggest the device is being tested with last year's Android and not new developer builds. Marshmallow is a year-old proven operating system. Samsung's choice for operating time-tested firmware before updating device to new Android releases could affect Note 6 sales both ways.
