Netflix has released the first trailer for its documentary titled Mitt, a documentary about governor Mitt Romney's run for president of the United States in the 2012 election.

Surprisingly the documentary begins with the Republican candidate first realizing that he has lost the election for president of the United States to incumbent Barack Obama. Not that that is a spoiler since Barack Obama is currently the president.

"What do you think you say in a concession speech?" Romney asks in the first part of the video to his friends and family sitting in a room with him all coming to terms with the fact that their race to the White House has ended in defeat.

Mashable reports that Greg Whiteley directed the film, which will premiere on Jan. 24. It details the behind-the-scenes actions of Romney's aspirations starting in 2006 and concludes with his concession speech in 2012. The cameras followed the presidential candidate for many months and the documentary looks to tell the complete story of what it was like to run and the pressures that came with it.

"I first met and filmed the Romney family in Park City [Utah] in 2006 as they gathered to discuss whether Mitt should run for president," Whiteley said in a statement. "Over the next seven years. I couldn't believe I was filming inside rooms and situations I had no business being in. Now that I've finished I couldn't be more pleased to share this experience with audiences around the world through Netflix."

The film seems to take an honest approach to Romney and those close to him during the race with several self deprecating moments including him saying he felt like he was dying on stage after an event, calling himself "the flipping Mormon" and his wife saying that she would not be able to do something like this again.
