Before Chelsea Handler singed a programming deal with Netflix, the comedian hosted a very popular talk show on the E! network called "Chelsea Lately" but walked away from the show. Handler stopped by "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" Tuesday night to explain why she left her talk show and opened up about her new Netflix series.

"I want to know two things, one is you have this show on E! You're the biggest name on E!..." Fallon asked her before Handler asked, "Was I the biggest name on E!?"

"That wasn't a Kardashian? Yeah, I think so," Fallon said.

"I didn't have a big enough a-- to stay on that network," the comedian said, referencing the Kardashian family, whose reality show "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" airs on E!

Handler said that in all honesty, she left the channel because she was simply no longer happy with her show or the network.

"It made me nervous, but it's good to be nervous," she said about leaving "Chelsea Lately." "I don't want to take anything for granted and I want to get in a good mood when I get to work each day. I was so annoyed. This place (E!) is so stupid. I want to not be annoyed...I don't want to be an ass, I want to be happy. It was like I had my period the entire time."

Handler's new Netflix talk show, "Chelsea," will premiere next month, and the 41-year-old is excited, but a good nervous about the new venture. So, what can Handler fans expect from her new Netflix talk show?

"I'm basically treating it as a college education that I forgot to get that Netflix is funding," she said.

"It's like what you would want college to be once you turn 40 and realize what you're actually interested in, what you think you know that you don't know, getting answers to questions but also keeping my sense of humor about everything so that you can get information in a fun, cool way," Handler continued. "Like, imagine if 60 Minutes were funny."

"Chelsea" will be on Netflix three days a week, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, starting May 11.
