Benedict Cumberbatch has reportedly been fighting for a role in "Star Wars Episode 7", and revealed to Metro U.K. how he is attempting to win over director J.J. Abrams.

According to the news site, Cumberbatch's master plan involved a lightsaber, his best Chewbacca impression and odd voice messages.

"Yeah, it started with me with sort of...I just sort of would leave casual messages on his phone as a lightsaber,' Cumberbatch told Metro.  "I thought he thought he was getting bad cell reception or something."

"Then, I even went on a chat show and auditioned for Chewbacca. I sat next to Harrison Ford and did my audition," the actor added.

It's probably safe to assume Cumberbatch was joking, just like comedians Amy Poehler and Tina Fey when they confirmed their new "Star Wars Episode 7" roles.

J.J. Abrams confirmed to Entertainment Weekly the funny ladies would be taking on the role of the "Vader Moms" in the upcoming Disney flick.  Check out what Fey and Poehler had to say about their characters, according to EW.

POEHLER: "He has two horrible mothers. We know a lot of father stuff with Star Wars, and not a lot of mother stuff. We play these really naggy mothers of Darth Vader."

FEY: [In an elderly New Yorker accent] "'Darth, eat! Why don't you eat?' That kind of stuff."

POEHLER: "You're never gonna find a girl when you go out looking like that!"

FEY: "Making him practice his Jedi stuff for hours."

POEHLER: "Hitting on all his Jedi friends inappropriately. I feel like the theme of the next Star Wars is going to be: How does a working mother juggle it all? I'm looking forward to that. What I like about all these giant superhero movies is that they speak to the issues that I'm dealing with right now - working mother and time management and how to be an interesting, sexual, curious woman in your 40s. That's the kind of stuff that I like to see on the screen, and that's what I see with a lot of the films out today."

"Star Wars Episode 7" is set to hit theaters Dec. 18, 2015.
