It's been nearly two weeks since Teleka Patrick, a medical resident from Michigan, went missing, and now more than ever her parents are calling for help to find their daughter.

Patrick's parents, Mattahais and Irene, issued a statement Saturday expressing their despair and faith that their daughter may be found. The statement was released with an Indiana State Police poster also asking for help in locating the missing woman, local news site MLive reported.

"It's been seven days, and we still can't find our daughter. Teleka Cassandra Patrick is our eldest and has always been the light of our lives," the statement from Teleka's parents said, "We need help. We need a miracle and we need your help."

Reports say Teleka was last seen Thursday Dec. 5 in the parking lot of Borgess Medical Center, where she was completing her residency. That evening she was dropped off at her car after returning from Kalamazoo, MLive reported. After 10 p.m. that night, Indiana police found Teleka's car, a gold 1997 Lexus ES300, abandoned in a ditch on I-94 near Portage. Nothing suspicious was found in the car.

Irene Patrick told MLive she does not know why her daughter was on I-94 the night she went missing. The car appeared to be going westbound.

"...The fact that she was in that direction, it seems like her life was in danger," she said. "Why would she travel in that direction Thursday night knowing that she had to be back to work on Friday? It seems it's a matter of flight and fright."

Initial reports stated the missing woman was 33-years-old, but recent reports say Teleka is 30. She is a 160-pound, 5-foot-7 inch black woman with black hair.

Police increased their search efforts after the first week went by, using a bloodhound and all-terrain vehicle, MLive reported. Police are also planning to use a helicopter to search the area around I-94, MLive reported.

"We've don't quite a bit on this and we just don't know where she is," Undersheriff Pali Matyas told MLive.
