The Detroit Lions will host Virginia Tech cornerback and top draft prospect Kendall Fuller. Fuller is projected to be the fifth best cornerback in the draft and would likely be projected to be taken higher if not for a knee injury that required microfracture surgery. He was considered a first round pick before his injury, and his medical re-check will likely play a large factor in determining where he lands.

If selected by the Detroit Lions the Virginia Tech standout would be playing with his brother, wide receiver Corey Fuller. Having his brother on an NFL team could help ease him into the process of becoming an NFL player. Fuller is a third-string wide receiver who should carve out a bigger role in the offense with the retirement of Calvin Johnson.

Fuller remains behind former Cincinnati Bengal Marvin Jones, Golden Tate, former New York Jet Jeremy Kerly and Corey Robinson. Kendall Fuller also has two other brothers who are not on the Lions, and he would become the fourth Fuller brother to make it to the NFL. The Chicago Bears drafted Kyle Fuller during the 2014 NFL draft and never looked back. He would go on to start every game at cornerback for the Bears proving that he is truly an elite talent and that the Bears can build their secondary around him. The Lions will have the 16th overall pick during the 2016 NFL draft, and they currently have several needs they must address.

The biggest will likely be at wide receiver, as losing a mega star like Johnson hurts tremendously. Johnson was the lifeblood of the offense, and without him this team should struggle to find consistency. The Lions will likely attempt to draft a top-tier wide receiver with their top pick, and it would not be surprising to see them select Laquon Treadwell as he is the highest ranked receiver in this draft class.

Treadwell should also be the best prepared for the NFL as he is a constant playmaker and should be able to be a factor with any team he lands within his first season. The Lions also desperately need a cornerback/defensive back, so seeing Fuller come off the board with their selection in either the first or second round would not be to shocking.
