On Sunday night's episode of Caitlyn Jenner's documentary series "I Am Cait," the transgender star took on the city of New Orleans with one very special guest: Kris Jenner.

The matriarch of the Kardashian/Jenner family arrived in New Orleans to spend time with Caitlyn and her friends, including trans activist Jenny Boylan, who spoke about the meeting of the former couple in the most recent episode on a blog that she writes for E!.

"They're clearly still deeply connected to each other - but there's plenty of hurt and anger and uncertainty still kicking around their hearts," Boylan wrote. "I hoped that Kris and Caitlyn might find a little bit of what the rest of us had found on the bus trip -this new way of bridging the distances of disagreement and loss through love and respect."

During the episode, Caitlyn and Kris experienced many ups and downs, and one of the more serious moments happened when Kris claimed to be in the dark about her former husband's gender identity issues early on in their multi-decade relationship.

"There was no, 'I am transgender,'" Kris said. "It was, 'I took some stuff in the '80s, and my sperm isn't good.'"

Caitlyn did not agree with what Jenner said.

"I said I had a condition that I've been dealing with forever," Caitlyn responded. "I said that I was on hormones, and that's the reason it might be tough to get pregnant. I certainly told her what was going on. I certainly said I had gender issues, and I was on hormones, and I had boobs and the whole thing."

After the serious chat between the two - who share two daughters, Kendall and Kylie Jenner - they decided to let off some steam by going out on Bourbon Street. On the way back from the bars, Kris could not stop complementing the former Olympian's group of girlfriends.

"You guys have all gotten a major 10 from me," she said. "I think you're all so delicious and pretty fab. I can't wait to see you guys again, I mean that." She also joked, "Not you, Jenner, just your friends!"

In a surprising move, Caitlyn then grabbed Kris' face and planted a kiss right on her lips.

"They clearly have a long way to go still, and where they'll wind up in the future is anybody's guess. The road from ex-husband and ex-wife to a pair of girlfriends - sisters, even - is not easy. But I think they'll do it," Boylan wrote of the former couple.

"I Am Cait" airs on E! Sundays at 9 p.m. ET.
