The Dallas Cowboys are currently searching for pass rusher and have done a couple of things to address it during the offseason. They have added former Philadelphia Eagles starting defensive end Cedric Thornton and re-signed Jack Crawford.

They may take things a step further, though, and draft a pass rusher with their first round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. The top 10 prospects heading to the NFL will be up for grabs, as Dallas will have the fourth overall pick.

One player they are known to be interested in is edge rusher Shaq Lawson. Lawson makes up the three-headed monster that is first round defensive ends, which includes Ohio State's Joey Bosa and Oregon's DeForest Buckner.

Buckner is more suited for a 3-4 scheme and the Cowboys reportedly have cooled on Bosa, so that leaves Lawson. He is smaller than the other two pass rushers, but makes up for it with speed and aggressiveness getting to the quarterback.

The Cowboys reportedly spent six hours with the Clemson product as they got to know him as a player and as a person. Lawson has a nagging shoulder injury that he claims is not an issue, however, the Cowboys must do their due diligence in regards to any injury.

He is effective at stopping both the run and the pass, has a great motor, and has 20 sacks and 123 tackles in his time with the Tigers. The Cowboys could go in a hundred different directions in picking whom they select, however, there are certain things we can assume by simply looking at the teams that draft before them.

If the Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns and San Diego Chargers all somehow leave safety Jalen Ramsey on the board, then the Cowboys will most likely select him. This is the only certainty in the Cowboys' draft plans, as they may be faced with a different decision, offense or defense.

The top edge rushers will be around by the time the Cowboys are on the clock, but so will be the best running back, wide receiver and linebacker in the entire draft. They will all be available and ready for the taking, so selecting the right player is incredibly important. The Cowboys could think Lawson is their guy and, if that's the case, finding out absolutely everything about him is crucial to the success of this franchise.
