Ever since Marvel and Sony Studios struck a deal to share the rights to the character of Spider-Man/Peter Parker, fans have been eagerly awaiting his Marvel Cinematic Universe introduction in this May's "Captain America: Civil War." While the mega team-up superhero blockbuster is at the top of everyone's list when it comes to Spider-Man excitement, fans are also increasingly curious of the character's planned solo reboot, scheduled for next year.

With two franchises already under his belt, Spider-Man has become a familiar face in the minds of most movie-goers. As a result, it's been very interesting to track the progress of this third on-screen iteration. How will they make this one stand a part? For starters, the studios may be changing things up when it comes to titles.

Tobey Maguire's wall-crawling series was named simply "Spider-Man," while Andrew Garfield's web-head received "The Amazing Spider-Man" moniker. What kind of title will Tom Holland's version get? That's been a topic of debate for some time and some clarity on the issue may have finally surfaced.

Marvel Studios recently registered the URL SpiderManHomecomingTheMovie.com, which re-directs you to Sony Pictures' website. This suggests the studios could be suing the title of the 80s comic book story arc of the same name.

Why is this important? Because that particular comic book story included appearances from both Tony Stark and Captain America. It also included the return of the black symbiote. It has long been rumored that both heroes could be showing up briefly in the "Spider-Man" reboot to help him get his (eight) legs under him in the MCU. would be showing up in Spidey's solo film, if not more Marvel characters. Borrowing from this specific story arc makes a ton of sense.

Having said all that, there's the possibility that Marvel and Sony are only using this title and story structure for the planned animated film that they have in the works. Lucky for us, production on the "Spider-Man" reboot is expected to start soon, which means we should be getting an official title in the near future. We must say, though, that we're on board for the "Spider-Man: Homecoming" film.

Directed by Jon Watts ("Cop Car"), the "Spider-Man" reboot is scheduled to hit theaters on July 7, 2017.
