Pakistan won the first T20 by three wickets on Wednesday, thanks to a strong performance from Man of the Match winner Shahid Afridi, who scored 39 runs (not out) and took one wicket.  Sharjeel Khan added 34 runs, and skipper Mohammad Hafeez chipped in with 32 runs; Saeed Ajmal and Sohail Tanvir carried the bowling front with two wickets each.

"The advantage Pakistan's got is that they have played a lot of international cricket in the last six-eight months whereas unfortunately we haven't played nearly as much because of weather and various things," Sri Lanka coach Graham Ford said before the first T20, via IB Times.

"We've done as much as we can to make sure we are sharp and ready but nothing's quite the same as being match-tight and match-sharp.  They have got an advantage from that point of view and they have got some fantastically talented cricketers."

Sri Lanka's offense was carried by Angelo Mathews 50 runs.  Skipper Dinesh Chandimal added 22 runs, Kumar Sangakkara added 21 and Lahiru Thirimanne chipped in with 23; Lasitha Malinga bowled well and took three wickets.

The club will need more of its batsmen to produce for a shot at evening the series against Pakistan.
