A Phoenix judge has denied the second motion filed by Jodi Arias' legal team to move the convicted killer's sentencing retrial to another location.

Arias' defense attorneys have asked twice to move the proceedings out of Phoenix due to intense publicity, which the court has tried to ease in the recent past by conducting most of Arias' court appearances behind doors closed to the media.

Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Sherry Stephens previously denied another motion that required jurors to hand over their Twitter accounts so officials could keep an eye on any potential inappropriate conversations online.

The judge stated that it was not necessary to watch jurors "absent a credible allegation that juror misconduct has occurred," adding that getting Twitter handles wouldn't "limit or reduce in any meaningful way the possibility that a juror will be exposed to extraneous information about the case."

A new retrial date hasn't yet been scheduled, the Associated Press reported.

Prosecutors are pushing to have Jodi Arias put to death for the May 2008 murder of her former lover Travis Alexander. Arias, 33, was accused of stabbing Alexander more than 30 times and shooting him in the head.

A jury couldn't decide during previous proceedings whether to sentence Arias to natural life in prison with no parole option, or put her to death. Arias is slated to be sentenced during the next phase of the retrial.
