Rockstar Games, the developer behind the VGX awards 2013 Game of the Year "Grand Theft Auto V" has announced its plans to launch the first story-centric add-on DLC for 2014. Main characters Michael, Trevor and Franklin will be back to go up against a new threat and take on some new missions.

In a post on Rockstar's Newswire, the developer said it had "big plans for substantial additions in 2014 continuing Michael, Franklin and Trevor's action, mayhem and unexpected adventures in Southern San Andreas."

While updates to the offline Story Mode of the game are exciting enough, Rockstar also detailed some future plans for its online multiplayer "Grand Theft Auto Online." A larger update to the game will come later this week offering users the beta version of its content creator that will allow them to create deathmatches and races in the game on their own. Later this month the developer will launch four Capture mode variants, Raid, Contend, Hold and GTA, which Rockstar says it will detail soon, according to IGN.

Finally, the most talked about and highly anticipated feature promised to users in GTA Online is the heist missions, which the company talked about and revealed won't be here until after the New Year.

"Heists are currently in development and we are working very hard to get them as polished and as fun as they can be. Stay tuned for more detail in the New Year."

Heists and a content creator were features promised by Rockstar months ago when it first unveiled that "Grand Theft Auto V" would have multiplayer. It didn't launch with the multiplayer and have been very highly anticipated by fans. Finally there are some answers as to when gamers will be able to get their hands on both of these new features in "Grand Theft Auto Online."
