"Maze Runner: The Death Cure" is the third installment in "The Maze Runner" franchise, which is based on the popular book series of the same name by James Dashner. The story follows a young man named Thomas (O'Brien), who wakes up with his memory erased and learns that he was put in a maze with other young men. The first film "The Maze Runner," was released in 2014 and went on to gross over $102 million. The second film in the franchise, titled "The Scorch Trails," was released in September 2015 and has currently made $81.8 million at the box office.

Currently, "The Maze Runner: The Death Cure" is scheduled to be released in February 2017, but is it still unknown how O'Brien's injuries will affect the film, as he is the star of the franchise.

Besides his role as Thomas in "The Maze Runner" series, O'Brien is best known for playing the role of Stiles Stillinski on MTV's "Teen Wolf," which stars Tyler Possey. The rising star also just finished two films, "Little White Corvette" and "Deepwater Horizon." The second of the two films tells the story of the infamous offshore oil rig, Deepwater Horizon, which exploded in 2010 and caused the worst oil spill in U.S. history. The movie co-stars Mark Wahlberg, Kate Hudson and Kurt Russell.
