The New York Giants had a rough 2015 regular season after missing out on the playoffs. Not only that, their star edge rusher Jason Pierre-Paul suffered a hand injury that could alter his career altogether. Now as we look past the trials of 2015 there are needs on this roster that must be addressed.

The Giants only lost two players during free agency so far, and that was one of their best pass rushers Robert Ayers and above average cornerback Prince Amukamara. He left the Giants to head to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers since he knew several of the coaches involved with the franchise. The Giants responded to this move by making the biggest free agent deals of the offseason.

They signed the star free agent pass rusher Olivier Vernon formerly of the Miami Dolphins to a five-year, $85 million deal. They also managed to sign star free agent cornerback Janoris Jenkins formerly of the Los Angeles Rams to a 5-year, $62 million deal, defensive tackle Damon Harrison formerly of the New York Jets to a 5-year, $46 million deal, as well as inside linebacker Keenan Robinson formerly of the Washington Redskins.

The Giants had a ton of needs and have slowly filled a large portion of them. Even with Amukamara leaving, the team has an immediate replacement in Jenkins. The Giants have basically solidified their nose tackle position, as Damon Harrison is a great anchor for their defensive line.

The main issue now becomes finding a running back, offensive linemen, safeties and linebackers that can contribute in 2016. The Giants should look to draft a running back first overall to help the aging Eli Manning keep his passing game consistent and effective.

Ezekiel Elliott is looking like a serious option with the 10th overall pick, however the Giants could wait until the second round and try to land Derrick Henry.  The Giants could go wide receiver at this spot too and target the best wide receiver in the draft, Laquon Treadwell.

The Giants may decide to pick up another offensive lineman as they must make it a point to protect Manning this season. The Giants are in range to draft a productive offensive lineman as they will be early enough to grab a top 5 player at that position.
