By now we're sure you know that Conor McGregor was upset by Nate Diaz at UFC 196. Diaz got McGregor in the second round with a rear naked choke, and many people were shocked by the outcome. In this fight McGregor went up two weight classes from where he typically fights; he is the current featherweight champion, so maybe it shouldn't have been a surprise he lost.

After the fight McGregor made no excuses and handled the loss well, saying that he was just beaten that night. One person that took notice of the way he handled it was Jon Jones, the former light heavyweight champion, as he said he gained even more respect for McGregor for the impressive way he handled the loss.

Fast-forward a couple of weeks, and it seems as though Jones might have changed his stance on McGregor a little bit. Let's not forget that McGregor said he had passed Jones as the number one pound-for-pound fighter back in March.

"I have mixed feelings about watching him lose," said Jones. "A part of me thinks that it was a good thing because he was humbled and right before he lost he was starting to get into conversations about fighting anybody, anywhere and certain things like 'I could beat anybody no matter what weight class they're in.'"

Jones' thoughts on McGregor aren't exactly a shot at the featherweight champ. It is basically just telling him to stay in his lane. McGregor's head might have gotten too big due to all of the winning he had recently experienced, and losing to Diaz should knock him down a peg, according to Jones. Jones believes that losing to Diaz was the best thing for McGregor because now people know he is not invincible and he should know his limitations.

There was once talk of McGregor potentially meeting up with Jones, but those talks were all ridiculous. Jones is a 200-plus-pound man while McGregor is used to fighting at 145 pounds and lost at 170 pounds. That fight could never happen and should never happen because Jones has such a size advantage, and it would probably be the biggest upset of all time if McGregor won. Jones hopes McGregor will now confine himself to the featherweight division so that he could dominate there.

McGregor's next fight is scheduled for UFC 200 although we do not yet know whom he will be fighting. As for Jones, he will try to get his light heavyweight championship back when he fights Daniel Cormier at UFC 197 on April 23.
