Kanye West publicly severed ties with Nike after the company failed to dish out enough cash to the rapper for his Air Yeezy, so they decided to replace him with fellow artist Drake.

According to Pitchfork, the "Take Care" singer has signed a deal to become the newest member of with Michael Jordan's Nike brand, OVO Sneakers. Drake, 27, shared photos of the OVO Stingray designs he's been working on. The rapper officially announced his partnership on stage during a his concert in Portland, Ore. on Wednesday.

Drake's announcement comes days after West spent six minutes on stage talking about his failed partnership with Nike, the Daily Mail reported. West told his Nashville, Tenn. Audience the media and big corporations are to blame for holding him back from achieving his best creative work.

"Do you know who the head of Nike is?" Kanye asked the audience. "No, well let me tell you who he is: His name is Mark Parker, and he just lost culture. Everyone at Nike, everyone at Nike, Mark Parker just let go of culture."

"Did you not want the Yeezys? Nike would make you believe it was my fault that you couldn't get them, but that was not the case," the rapper continued. "I wanted there to be as many Yeezys as there was LeBrons, and I wanted them to be at a good price, but that was not my choice, and we're going to change everything. And ... I'm going to create more than you think that any musician in the history of time ever could have."

According to the Daily Mail, West has since partnered with Adidas to create a shoe line, a deal that is reportedly worth $10 million. West has openly told the media he does not want to be categorized as just a "musician" and dreams about creating his own multi-million dollar fashion brand and retailer.
