Uber has teamed up with Home Depot, a U.S.-based home products retailer, for free delivery of Christmas trees across ten U.S. cities.

Christmas celebration are not complete without Santa and Christmas trees. Finding a suitable Christmas tree and lugging it home is a laborious task. Well you don't need to worry this time, as Uber, the San Francisco-based transportation network company will be delivering Home Depot Christmas trees for free to your doorsteps, within minutes of ordering through an app.

All you need to do is to download the Uber app available on iOS, Android or Blackberry. Fill in the details on the order form and send the request through the app and the Christmas tree will reach you within minutes, the company boasts.

"Instead of spending your weekend wrestling with a tree from the not-so-near farm or slushy street corner, kick back, pour yourself an extra glass of eggnog and watch your app as Uber takes care of the heavy lifting. With the help of The Home Depot and a bit of holiday magic, Uber will deliver a live tree to your doorstep with the touch of a button," Uber writes on the official blog.

The company anticipates a high demand for the Christmas trees and says the requests will be met on first come first serve basis.

The service will be available in ten U.S.cities namely Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York City, Philadelphia, San Diego, San Francisco and Washington, DC. The shipment is free but there will be a sub charge of $135.

This is not the first time Uber is offering such promotional deliveries. The cab transport network's earlier offers included a wide range of items; starting from ice cream to Valentine's Day Roses and even cute kittens, reveals a recent post on  CNet.

Uber will be also arranging for a 'Santa on Demand' this week in Seattle, which will cost around $50 for every visit,  and the funds collected will be donated to The Market Foundation, a Seattle based non-profit organization that works with low-income families, reports, PCmag.
