The Tennessee Titans have finally added a new weapon for Marcus Mariota during the 2016 NFL free agency period. The Titans have added Rishard Matthews from the Miami Dolphins to help bolster this wide receiving corps. Matthews was started opposite of Miami's star wide receiver Jarvis Landry until he suffered a rib injury during the 2015 NFL regular season.

Matthews is not a guy who will draw double coverage or any extra attention, but he is better than most of the Titans wide receivers right now. The Titans currently have former Falcon Harry Douglas, sophomore Dorial Green-Beckham, Justin Hunter and Damaris Johnson.

This combination has backed up Kendall Wright admirably but could not produce like some of the elite NFL offenses. Adding Matthews provides an added dimension on offense that this team desperately needed. Of course, Matthews is not the complete answer, as the Titans should draft or eventually pick up a true number one receiver, but Matthews should do for the time being.

In 2015, he had 11 starts, 43 receptions, 662 receiving yards, and hauled in four touchdowns. Matthews has spent four seasons on the Dolphins before leaving for the Titans. The Titans can now focus on entering the draft with the first overall pick and take the best player available. According to the million mock drafts released since the draft order was announced, the Titans are most likely to draft offensive lineman Laremy Tunsil. Tunsil is the best offensive lineman in the draft and will immediately give Mariota an upgrade in protection.

However, the Titans have expressed wanting to trade that first overall pick to a team who could use a quarterback and worry about bolstering this offensive line later on in the draft or throughout the offseason. If the Titans do find a trade partner to move back with, they could potentially find themselves at an acceptable spot in the draft to select the number one wide receiver on their draft boards.

Most likely, that name would be Laquon Treadwell and could bring an immediate boost to this offense while at the same time allowing this organization to grab a marquee talent. Treadwell is the best wide receiver in the draft, but it remains to be seen if the Titans will target him. Tennessee's concerns might be exclusively with protecting their franchise quarterback.
