Henry Cavill is reprising his role as the Man of Steel in director Zack Snyder’s upcoming “Batman Vs. Superman” film. While the official name of the movie has not been decided, Cavill is sure of one thing: Ben Affleck will make the perfect Caped Crusader for the “Man of Steel” sequel.

During an interview with Total Film, Cavill revealed he was excited to work with Affleck and is confident the Oscar-winning actor will bring originality to the role.

“I’m sure [Affleck will] be fantastic above all else. And as a filmmaker, he’s got his own style, you know. He’s not copying anyone else. And he’s also sort of being tenacious in his career,” Cavill said.

“He’s had ups followed by downs and now he’s very up again, and I think that requires and shows a very special strength of character. And it’s something which I enjoy working with because jobs like this require strength of character, they require a dedication to the work and a belief in oneself. And Ben has that, clearly,” he added. (Watch Cavill's interview in the video below)

“Batman vs. Superman” producer Charles Roven shares Cavill’s sentiment about the Affleck casting decision. Roven told Variety he felt the seasoned actor fits perfectly for the role of the Caped Crusader.

"We wanted a guy who had a certain age and a certain gravitas to what he had done in terms of his recent work," Roven said. "If you take a look at The Town and Argo, [Affleck] plays a couple of serious guys in those movies. He's a big man. He's also a mature man. As you see him and Henry Cavill together, one definitely has much more experience just by looking at him. That's what we wanted, particularly juxtaposed against our Superman."

The upcoming flick is set to begin filming early 2014. “Batman vs. Superman” is slated to his theaters July 17, 2015.
