As Hollywood tries to come to terms with the sudden death of actor Paul Walker, Universal Pictures and the team behind the "Fast and The Furious" franchise are scrambling to figure out exactly how they should move on with the movie.

Walker was in the middle of filming "Fast and The Furious 7" before he tragically passed away in a car accident. According to reports, he was supposed to return to Atlanta following a short holiday break to continue shooting the movie.

According to Hollywood Life, producers behind the film decided not to replace Walker in the upcoming movie but are considering bringing in a look-alike for certain scenes.

"They will not reshoot Paul's scenes with another actor but might have a look-alike to fill in for spots to explain certain scenes better," the source said.

This idea is not set in stone but the source said whatever the production team decides to do they want to make sure they honor Walker.

"Every possible angle moving forward with the script is on the table," the source continued. "They have thought of killing his character off in a heroic fashion, taking him completely out of the film and even keeping what he filmed and surrounding it with new scenes to make it all make sense. They are delaying everything until they figure it out, which most likely will be next year after the holidays."

On Nov. 30 Walker and a friend, identified as Roger Rodas, was involved in a fatal car accident after their Porsche crashed into a tree, caught fire and exploded. According to reports, Walker had been attending a charity event in Santa Clarita, Calif. when he and Rodas decide to take the Porsche out for a test drive. Rodas, a former race car driver and CEO a custom car shop, is said to have been driving and lost control of the car.

The cause of the accident is still being investigated.
