Capcom's highly-acclaimed monster-hunting series "Monster Hunter" on the 3DS is continuing its run in the U.S. After the latest title, "Monster Hunter X," dropped in Japan last year, audiences in the West will finally be able to get in on the action with the now-rebranded entry "Monster Hunter Generations."

Nintendo confirmed the arrival of the English version of "Monster Hunter X" during the Nintendo Direct presentation on Thursday.

"Monster Hunter Generations is the most customizable Monster Hunter experience to date, and serves as a fitting tribute to the last decade of the series," the company said.

This customizability references two new features that have never been seen in the series before: Hunting Styles and Hunter Arts. Hunting Styles will alter the player's moveset and change how many Hunter Arts he or she will have access to. Hunter Arts are essentially special abilities that a player can use depending on what weapon the player is using. For example, a Light Bowgun user can use an ability that allows them to load all usable shots in your pouch into your bowgun, while a Hunting Horn user can use an ability that allows them to play double the notes without hitting a monster.

Nintendo is already gearing up for the upcoming release by promising experienced hunters rewards for their previous work with the Hunter's Guild.

"Anyone who plays Monster Hunter Generations on a Nintendo 3DS with Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate save data present on it, will receive bonus content in the new game," said Bill Trinen from Nintendo of America.

For those unfamiliar with the series and are looking for an entry point or simply want a chance at the bonus are in luck. Nintendo has slashed the price of "Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate," bringing the price down to $19.99 on the Nintendo eShop. However, you need to act fast, the sale only has a 48-hour window, which started at 3 p.m. PST (6 p.m. EST) on Thursday, leaving little time before the promotion expires.

In addition to the news, Trinen announced a crossover between "Monster Hunter" and "Fire Emblem," which will allow your hunter to play as Marth, the first Lord of the series.
