Amazon has found Cyber Monday as the right time to slash the prices of its all-new 7-inch tablets, Kindle Fire HD and Kindle Fire HDX, by a generous $50.

Amazon, world's largest online retailer, brought some of the best deals on Black Friday and is continuing the momentum by offering more on Cyber Monday. By tradition, Cyber Monday follows the Thanksgiving and Black Friday weekend and is an extension of festive shopping. While Black Friday welcomes shoppers into stores, Cyber Monday lures shoppers in to making more online purchases.

Amazon has some incredible deals on its popular 7-inch tablets, Kindle Fire HD and Kindle Fire HDX. The e-commerce giant announced Sunday two special deals on Kindle Fire tablets and started Cyber Monday celebrations early. The deals went live at 5 p.m. PST on Sunday, bringing the prices of the 16GB version of 7-inch Kindle Fire HD and Kindle Fire HDX down by $50.

"The new Fire tablets are the best tablets we've ever built-the reviews from press and the feedback from customers has been overwhelmingly positive," Neil Lindsay, Vice President, Amazon Kindle, said in a press release. "We're excited to be able to offer $50 off Kindle Fire HDX 7" and the all-new Kindle Fire HD 16GB for Cyber Monday."

The discount is only on the 16GB version of the Kindle Fire tablets, and not the 8GB. By comparison, Kindle Fire HD 16GB is currently cheaper than the 8GB model, which retails for $139. The all-new 7-inch Kindle Fire HD tablet retails for $119, down from its usual $169 price tag. The discount on Kindle Fire HDX 7" tablet brings the price down to $179 from its usual $229.

Unlike Kindle Fire HD, the Fire HDX extends the $50 discount to other two variants, the 32GB and 64GB. The offer is limited to the Wi-Fi only model and not to 4G LTE AT&T or Verizon model. The 32GB Kindle Fire HDX retails for $219 and the 64GB sells for $259.

The offer lasts only for today so if you had a Kindle on your mind then this is the right time to grab one.
