It seems like secret weddings a becoming a trend in Bollywood!

After Preity Zinta and Gene Goodenough tied the knot in a private ceremony in Los Angeles earlier this week, Urmila Matondkar and Kashmir-based businessman Mohsin Akhtar got married in a low-key affair on Thursday.

"We kept it an exclusive wedding with just family and friends at the celebration. Since our families wanted the wedding to be a low key affair we mutually decided to keep it private. We seek your blessings on embarking this new journey of our lives," said the "Rangeela" actress.

Matondkar, 42, looked stunning in a red and pink lehenga - a creation by close friend and designer Manish Malhotra who was in attendance at the wedding.

"Urmila is a dear friend and I'm so happy for her. She met Mir Mohsin at my niece Rridhi's wedding in Mumbai in December 2014 and they just hit it off. He used to be a model long back but now does the business of Kashmiri embroidery," said Malhotra.

"He's a simple guy from Kashmir, now settled in Mumbai. The wedding was a really private affair and I was the only one from the film industry over there. Urmila made a beautiful bride. She wore a red and pink bespoke lehnga from my Regal Threads benaras collection, which is my ode to the 'Make in India' movement. She looked so happy and I hope this happiness lasts forever," he added.

Matondkar last made an appearance in the 2014 Marathi-language film "Ajoba," and while the actress has starred in hits like "Satya" and "Bhoot," Mir has mainly done small roles in lesser known films.

The actor had a short role in Farhan Akhtar starrer "Luck by Chance," in which he plays a model auditioning for a film role. He also played a male prostitute in Saurabh Sengupta's indie flick "It's A Man's World" alongside Mouli Ganguly. Mir, who is a decade younger than Matondkar, also featured in the film "Mumbai Mast Kalandar."

Malhotra took to Twitter to share a picture of Matondkar on her big day. "Most beautiful bride ‪#urmila Matondkar ‪#Congratulations," he wrote. Matondkar's close friend Paulomi Sanghavi also shared pictures of the wedding festivities and the newly wedded couple on social media. Here are the pictures:
