Gigaset, German Electronics Company has entered the highly competitive and ever growing tablet market with two of its latest additions, 8-inch QV830 and 10.1-inch QV1030.

Most of us may or may not have heard of Gigaset but those who went shopping for cordless phones must have come across this German brand at least once. The company is well-known for its cordless telephones but now Gigaset plans on expanding its horizon into the ever growing tablet industry. The two new tablets, 8-inch QV830 and 10.1-inch QV1030 don  the company's award winning design with aluminum shells.

"Gigaset stands for communication! We have done so for years with our premium DECT phones or recently with our connected living system Gigaset elements and the SL930A full-touch Android phone. And soon we'll be following that up with two high-quality tablets that underscore our mission to deliver first class communication tools for the networked home, too," Gigaset CEO Charles Fränkl said in a press release.

Gigaset's entry in the tablet market is the beginning of a new shift in "Gigaset 2015" strategy. Since this is a new venture, the company has revealed plans to roll out further models sometime next year. The tablets are built on anodized aluminum chassis and run stock Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.

The large 10.1-inch display brings every detail in a picture with its 2560x1600 pixels and 300 dpi. The tablet is powered by 1.8 GHz quad-core Tegra 4 processor and 8-megapixels rear-facing camera with dual-LED flash and a 1.2-megapixel shooter in the front.

While the high-end features are reserved for the 10.1-inch tablet, the 8-inch model sports impressive features. The design follows the higher model but sports a 1,024 x 768 screen resolution with 1.2GHz quad-core MediaTek chip, 5-megapixels rear facing camera and 1.2-megapixel in the front.

The 10.1-inch QV1030 and 8-inch QV830 comes with 16GB and 8GB internal storage, respectively, and can be expanded via microSD slots. Both the slates will hit the stores in Germany next month, starting at €199 ($271) for the QV830 and €369 ($502) for the QV1030. The company has not revealed plans of joining the U.S. market anytime soon.
