Facebook has promised it Live Video will be on Android devices next week. The company has already launched it on iOS and will make it available on American phones first, Mashable reports. Live has been made available to users in 30 countries but will expand to other locations in weeks, according to The Verge.

Facebook said that people watch Live Video three times longer than when it is not live. The company also said that over 50 percent of Android users are Live Video fans.

Users will be able to decide if the video can be seen by friends, friends of friends the public or other groups, according to PC World. Videos will be saved to the users' Facebook Timeline unless they are purposely erased.

The company published a list of tips for using Live, including telling others ahead of time you are going to broadcast and writing a compelling description before filming.

Facebook's CEO Mark Zuckerberg spoke about the announcement in an interview with Venture Beat, and said it was going to be another way to connect people, saying, "'Live' is going to be an awesome thing for public figures... imagine your favorite public figure or politician having the power to broadcast from their pocket, go live, have an audience of thousands of people."

"There's a lot more that needs to be done to give people the ability to connect with the people and figures they're interested in. I think you're going to see a lot of that on Instagram and Facebook, and if the Twitter folks do a good job, I think you'll see a lot more of that on Twitter too," he added.

Facebook Live was first introduced in 2015 for a few verified accounts and celebrities in the United States but the company has been expanding it.
