Hollywood's biggest party is happening on Sunday, Feb. 28 and if you're watching the telecast at home, why not make it more fun by hosting your own Oscars party? It won't require spending tons of money since you probably don't have a movie producer budget, but you can still party like a movie star.

Here are some tips to hosting an Oscars party at home:

1) Lots of popcorn!

What's a movie event without popcorn, right? You can toss store-bought popcorn in the microwave for a quick snack fix for your guests. However, you can also make it more interesting by offering unusual popcorn flavors.

For instance, you can shake hot popcorn into a bag with a half cup of grated Parmesan cheese, some olive oil, freshly chopped rosemary and salt for a Parmesan-rosemary flavored treat. There are more popcorn flavor suggestions available at Food Network. Go crazy with it!

2) Present a sandwich bar.

A sandwich bar is budget-friendly - especially if you're feeding a whole set crew of people - but you can also consider adding sandwich sliders to your choices. This way, your guests can sample different flavors without overeating, according to Connecticut in Style.

3) Bring out the champagne and decorate glasses with bowties.

Cut black felt paper about three inches wide, pinch the middle part and then tape or sew. Use glue to attach the ties on the champagne glasses. Watch a simple tutorial to making felt bowties below:

4) Don't forget the dessert!

No need to bake anything as you can simply buy chocolates at the grocery store and unwrap these individually to set in a fancy dessert tray. They will taste great with the champagne!

5) Arrange a drinking game

Make the night more exciting by coming up with a drinking game with your guests. For instance, when someone on TV mentions #OscarsSoWhite or when the host, Chris Rock, cracks a joke about the lack of diversity in the nominations, you've all do a shot.
