A Washington, D.C. non-theist organization has filed a lawsuit against Pittsburgh's public transit agency because they wouldn't post the group's advertisements.

The United Coalition of Reason, a group that works to embolden those that don't believe in God, reportedly submitted ads to the Port Authority of Allegheny County that read, "Don't believe in God? You are not alone," which the agency refused to place.

The ad also displayed additional information for another local group with whom the coalition works, along with a website.

According to the lawsuit obtained by the Associated Press, the agency said they couldn't run the advertisement due to an extensive policy barring "non-commercial" ads. Despite the reported policy, the group claimed that port authority has featured ads sponsored by religious organizations and interest groups in the past.

If port authority officials lose the suit, they'll have to pay for the coalition's legal fees and post the advertisements.

A spokesperson from the Port Authority of Allegheny County did not give comment to the Associated Press.

This isn't the first time atheist or agnostic groups have pursued legal suits against the state of Pennsylvania - last year, the Freedom From Religion Foundation filed a lawsuit against the Pennsylvania House's passing a resolution that called 2012 "The Year of the Bible."
