Qualcomm is taking pre-orders for its first Toq smartwatch for $349.99.  The wearable tech will be delivered within 1-3 weeks.

Qualcomm first showed off its Toq smartwatch at a developer conference in San Diego, September 4, and announced its availability starting December 2. Now the chip maker is taking pre-orders for its wearable tech from its own website and will be shipped within 1-3 weeks. The device still has the same price tag as it was announced earlier-$349.99, which is currently the highest price for a smartwatch. Toq also beats Samsung's $300 Galaxy Gear and $150 Pebble smartwatch.

Qualcomm is currently taking pre-orders for the black color Toq smartwatch, and the company has plans to launch the watch in white color soon.

Qualcomm definitely has no intention of getting its Toq watch on every wrist with this hefty price tag, however, the company is showing off its latest technology used in the smartwatch so other companies can adapt it in their future products. Basically, the chip maker is targeting a wider audience in an indirect way.

Qualcomm Toq is equipped with unique Mirasol touchscreen display that offers full color display and also long-lasting battery life, up to 5 days on single charge. If you compare the same with Samsung's Gear, which offers up to 10 hours of battery life, you will happily shell an extra $50 for this tech piece. The watch also includes a backlight, a touch pad, and its own OS. The Android-compatible smartwatch can also receive text messages, emails, incoming calls and notifications.

"We are now accepting pre-orders and anticipate product shipping within 1-2 weeks. Your credit card payment will be authorized at time of order, and payment collected at time of shipment," the company says.

If you were planning to get the Toq watch as a Christmas present then you can head over here and pre-order the device. If lucky, you may get the watch before others get their hands on it.
